BIO
My name is Nikita Turnquest, a multimedia artist from Long Island, Bahamas, now living in Freeport. I specialize in resin, sand, 3D art, and geode designs. As the owner of my brand, Adonis Bahamas, I create authentic resin wave and geode pieces, as well as marine life paintings—some of which are three-dimensional—incorporating natural elements to capture the essence of the islands and the beauty of the Bahamas. Now exploring more nuanced forms of art, I continue to push creative boundaries, blending textures and materials to craft truly unique works.
The beauty of the sea, the essence of life, and the freedom to create without limits—these are what fuel my art. Growing up on Long Island, the ocean wasn’t just a backdrop; it was a part of me. Its endless movement, shifting colors, and undeniable power shaped the way I see the world. Art became my escape, my therapy, and my way of capturing what words could not express.
I have always been drawn to working with my hands—building, drawing, and creating. Over time, my love for the sea and art merged into something deeper, allowing me to transform emotions into visual expression. Becoming a teen mom presented challenges, but art remained my constant, guiding me through every moment.
Now, as the artist and owner of Adonis Bahamas, I embrace the freedom to create on my own terms. My work is an extension of who I am—raw, fluid, and ever-evolving. Through my pieces, I share the serenity, movement, and vibrancy of the ocean, inviting others to experience its beauty and energy in their own way.
My name is Nikita Turnquest, and my art is my voice, my passion, and my connection to the world.
Artist Statement
For me, art is about movement, depth, and storytelling. The ocean’s rhythm, the flow of resin, and the raw texture of sand all inspire my creative process. Each piece I create isn’t just a craft—it’s a reflection of nature’s beauty, frozen in time. Whether it’s a crashing wave captured in resin or the layered intricacy of geodes, my goal is to create something that feels alive—something that connects people to the energy of the Bahamas. My work is meant to be touched, used, and admired, transforming everyday objects into functional art that tells a story.
